The Awakening
April 12, 2008
I lay asleep in bed,
One queer night,
And started to feel alone.
My dreams had given me a fright.
My eyes darted awake,
And I looked across the room.
I knew it was coming for me,
That, I could assume.
I drifted off to sleep again,
Not knowing that I had done,
The most horrible awakening,
And it was far too late to run.
Suddenly my window creaked,
And I instantly got up.
I looked out side to see the thing I had awoken –
A hodiump.
As the silent creepers floated in,
I was mystified by their glow.
They said in unison,
"We come in peace, you know.
We want a king, for our land.
And as you have awoken us,
We are taking you
To our midnight bus."
To afraid to resist,
I climbed onto their backs.
Never to see my world again,
I traveled with their packs.
