Chapter 1 -  What!?

"See you later Joanna" I stepped inside and looked over at the couch to see parents staring at me.  "Lilly", my mother finally spoke,    " Please come here."  I walked over to the couch and there was a moment of silence.  I checked my watch. "Yep" I thought "6:07, right on time."  My dad took a deep breath, gulped about 100 times and said in a rush, "We are moving to South Carolina."

First I screamed "WHAT?!" Then I thought "How could this be happening to the Timmer family on June 9, 2016 in New York City the day after my 13th birthday?!"

I ran up to my room, slammed the door, flopped down on my bed, and picked up my favorite book, Glinda the Great.

It had been given to me by my Grandpa Sollu, who is dead now and is my second prized possession.  My first prized possession is a shell from Indonesia that was also from Grandpa Sollu.  If there were a fire they would be the first things I'd grab.

I opened the book and started to read.  I had just gotten to the part where Glinda was falling into the black hole when my mother called me down for being rude (and how was I being rude?)  I got really angry, because why should I have to apologies when they where the ones who just ruined my life?  I threw my book at the mirror on top of my dresser and smashed my face into my pillow when I heard my mom calling me again.  I stayed with my face in my pillow and realized that I didn't hear a smashing sound when I threw my book and looked up to see something swirling in my mirror.

Chapter 2 - Josenda

If you were as curious as I am then you might do what I did next.
I walked over to the mirror and reached out to touch it.  Amazingly my hand went thought and, since I'm so curious I stuck my head through to see where my hand went.
What was before my eyes was breathtaking.  It was a wooded area with a sign saying, "Welcome to Globalee"
I opened my mouth in awe and before I knew it my whole body was inside this weird.
I decided to take a walk through the woods.  I had for about an hour when I bumped into something and my eyes snapped open with fear.
Before me was what looked like a human but it had the eyes, teeth, and claws of tiger, the ears of a bat, and the tongue of a snake.

"Hi darling", it half hissed and half said, "What, may I ask is your name?"  "Lilly Timmer" I quickly answered in fright.  "My child, I am Josenda Lofenten, a Locen if you are wondering what kind of being I am. "Nice to meet you Josenda" I replied politely  "call me Jo!."  Jo! Said " Why don't you come back with me to Locenville?"  "Are the people nice?"  "Why yes, Come along now just follow me."

It took us seven hours to get to Locenville where it was very gloomy so it was a relief to see that Jo! was guiding me towards a house where (hopefully) there was a bed.

I was scanning the skyline when I blurted out, "Where's the clock tower?" Jo! looked back at me confused and I was afraid that I had offended her.  "The what?"  Clock tower."  "What's that?"  And that is when I started to get worried, because I was off in some weird world with a stranger who didn't know what a clock tower was!

When we reached the house Jo! knocked on the door and it was answered by a servant.  Jo! said "We are here to see the King."  The servant nodded and led us into a room with another Locen sitting high up on a chair and next to him was a……girl about my age!

I ran over to her and exclaimed "What's your name?!"  "Maddie Knoth." She solemnly replied.  We started chatting and I overheard Jo! saying "She wants to go home."  The King replied "Then she has to fight, just like her." and he gestured over to Maddie.  I stared at her with wide eyes and she nodded.  We were going to war.

Chapter 4 - War

The king looked at Jo! and said "Lilly can stay here, I've got an extra bed."  Jo! looked like she had been turned into Jo, nodded an 'okay' to the King, came over to me and gave me a hug, turned and left.

As soon as the door had closed, the King had Maddie and me doing chores such as getting him a glass of water and so on.  Before we knew it, it was time for bed.  Maddie and I fell asleep as soon as our heads hit the pillows.

Chapter 5 - Yikes!

BOOM!  BANG!  POW!  POP!  Maddie and I balled up in bed just as a servant came rushing in and hollered "The Karies are here!  Get up and dressed!  The King wants you to fight!"

Maddie and I jumped out of bed, pulled on clothes and ran into the King, who, very groggily, gave us swords and said, "Go and fight." And we were shoved out the door.

Chapter 6 - Home Sweet Home

We walked on the battleground looking at dead bodies when Jo! called "you don't need to see this, let's go"

We trotted after her through the woods to where I had gone through the mirror to Globalee.  After Jo! had hugged us each and said goodbye, Maddie and I hugged each other, we took one another's hand and jumped through the mirror.

Chapter 7 -  Maddie

"Lilly! Your father isn't going to be transferred any more!"  "But guess what!", my fathers voice came this time, "We have new neighbors, so why don't you go visit them?"  I bolted down the stairs and out the door to the neighbor's house.

Standing by the house was a familiar face.  "Maddie?" I whisper " Maddie." She whispers back.  We hugged each other very tight and ran off to the Ice cream parlor to get some shakes.
